How to Make Authentic Mexican Sopes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Bag of Sopes El Comal
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups refried beans
  • 2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded (Optional)
  • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 ounces crumbly cheese such as cotija or Fresh Cheese cream (El Comal)
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce, finely shredded
  • Red or green hot sauce
  • Crema Mexicana (or sour cream)
  • Oil for frying

DIRECTIONS:

Once you have your sopes you could fried them in a pan with heated oil, or if you wish baked with a little bit of oil.

Serve topped with beans or meat of your choice, and then top lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, slide avocado with your choice of, crumbly cheese such as cotija or Fresh Cheese cream (El Comal)
